My Motto - "Life is short...buy the jewelry!"
The Designer, Maker & Everything Else...
Hi, I'm Erin! I'm the one-woman-show behind
The Blue Daisy & Co. I have always been drawn to jewelry for as long as I can remember...I could not and still cannot walk by any sort of jewelry display without stopping to take a peek. Whenever my mom and I go shopping, she always knows to look for me wherever the jewelry is. So, being the creatively driven DIY gal that I am, one day it occurred to me, after spotting a fabulous display of beads at the local craft store, that I could design and make my own unique jewelry rather than buying what everybody else had. What first started out as a personal craft project has, at the urging of family and friends, and an occasional stranger, turned into what you see on these pages.
I am constantly inspired by the world around me and find creative enjoyment in a variety of artful mediums. The thing I love about creating jewelry though is that it's wearable art. It can transform not only your outfit but your mood as well. Whether it's an eye-catching signature piece or something classic like delicate pearls, the jewelry you wear can speak volumes without you even saying a word.
Since I’m not independently wealthy (although I’m still praying for that big lottery win) and there are bills to be paid, my day-time job is that of mild-mannered elementary school music teacher. While I love my kiddos and the rewards I get seeing them succeed in creating music, it is a noisy and sometimes chaotic environment. The Blue Daisy & Co. is my blissful and creative escape from the daily grind of squeaky recorder playing and 2nd graders with no rhythm.
I use only the finest materials in my designs. Most pieces are one-of-a-kind due to the selective nature of stones and pearls I use.
My jewelry is handcrafted from .925 Sterling Silver, Fine Sliver, Hill Tribe Silver, and Jeweler's Brass along with a wide variety of Freshwater Pearls and other semi-precious stones including:
When choosing stones and pearls for my designs, I tend to gravitate towards the unique and unusual....big stones that can be made into a chunky statement necklace, vibrantly colored pearls that pop against bright sterling silver, or earthy and organic textures that create an unexpectedly nice contrast in a more traditional design.
